Located on the ground floor of The Tidewater, an iconic old granary building renovated to luxury apartments on its upper floors and retail space on the ground level, the middle section of the building still contains the original grain silos. 

The retail space was transformed into a unique site for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. The design embraces the unique aspects of the existing site, including the grain boxes used as a light feature and a monumental stair that bisects the large ground floor entrance. Interior detailing includes polished concrete floors, a specialty cork wallcovering and an exposed open ceiling to show off the spaces grand height.

 

Fine Wine & Good Spirits was looking for a one-of-a-kind location and design to set it apart from their typical retail specifications. Steps away from the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Fine Wine & Good Spirits designed this flagship store to provide an elevated customer experience.

 

 

This two-story, 15,000-square-foot retail space, includes a classroom and training room for events and speakers. A custom-made tasting bar is located on the second floor to showcase vendors.

 

 

 

To maintain some of the interesting features of the original use, the design team worked with a lighting designer to create a custom lighting pattern to maintain the look of the original grain silo chutes.

Located in a busy section of Philadelphia, it was important to the client to have an expansive point of sale, which was clad in reclaimed wood with exposed Edison lights above.
